Over the past few days, several articles have appeared about three Indian nurses who made their way to Belgium through Project Aurora, run by the non-profit organisation Chinta, and who are now working at Woon & Zorg H. Hart Kortrijk.
Behind this wonderful story lie almost two years of preparation:
✅ careful selection in India
✅ six months of intensive Dutch language training
✅ nursing training
✅ administrative support (Single Permit, recognition of qualifications, etc.)
✅ intensive support upon arrival and integration in Belgium.
Today, they are combining their work as care assistants with further training, so that they will soon be able to work as nurses in Belgium as well. In the meantime, they demonstrate their professionalism, dedication and warm care for the residents every day.
This project demonstrates that international recruitment is not a quick fix, but it is a sustainable investment when quality, training, ethics and support are prioritised.
