FAQ Employment contract
The candidate will work with a Single Permit (5 years) under a single employer. You are entitled to an unlimited job contract.
The contract can be switched or terminated any time by mutual consent.
Depending on the location of the employer, this could be in the city or in the countryside.
After the first year of work, you are entitled to paid holidays. The number of days depends on the working regime.
During work with Single Permit (5 years), you have to work under a single employer. The initial training period will include 80% work in combination lessons via IVV Sint-Vincentius.
After the training you can work full time for 38 hours/week.
FAQ Salary - costs
Accommodation in India is paid by the project. During the training in Kochi, Kerala, the Lourdes Institute provides accommodation.
Accommodation during the first year in Belgium is arranged by the employers in Belgium. A low rent has to be paid.
In both India and Belgium, food is the responsibility of the participants. The employers in Belgium provide meal vouchers to buy a certain amount of food and groceries.
When you become a registered nurse in Belgium after the completion of 1 year training and with a B1 certificate in Dutch, the minimum Gross salary is 3.168 euros/month and a Net salary of 2250 euros/ month. (Salary simulation for December 2025, index possible in 2026).
Salary will increase with consecutive years and seniority level. The pay as a nurse can be individually higher if you can prove years of employment with previous employers. If you cannot prove years of employment, you start with 1 year of seniority.

FAQ Training program
There is a free 6 months training program in Kochi, Kerala from July- December. This include an intensive Dutch language course to 2.4 (B1) level. Along with the language course there are introduction lessons on Belgian Geriatric care, Psychiatric care and Western healthcare model. The candidate need to reach level 2.1 of Dutch after 3 months of language course (September), if the level of Dutch is not sufficient, the possibility exists that the candidate cannot proceed the Aurora training program.
After complete successfully the training in Kerala, the candidates start 1 year training in Belgium in combination with work. The candidates have the continuation of Dutch language course until 2.4 (B1) level, combined with working as a Healthcare assistant.
The candidate achieve the degree of registered nurse in Europe after successful completion of the training program.
The training program in Kerala offers stipend.
The combined work and study program in Belgium offers salary.
Yes. Training materials are provided by the institution.
FAQ Visa - working permit
With your work visa, you are entitled to family reunification under certain conditions. It is possible, but depends on your family situation. We provide the necessary support, but cannot guarantee it. Since housing during the first year is only provided for applicants, it is only possible to bring your family members to Belgium after completing one year of education in Belgium.
The cost of the visas in India and the flight is paid by Chinta. Guidance for visa procedures and tickets will be done by ODEPC Kerala.
The immigration procedures will be handled by ODEPC Kerala.
Candidates must have the following documents:
- international passport (validity check)
- correct degree of nursing approved by the State bodies Nursing Council
- detailed curriculum vitae
- a medical certificate and document of good behaviour and morals (PCC) will be asked of the selected candidates at the start of the preliminary process in India.
Yes, they will receive a residency permit A and can work in Belgium with this permit.
Once you live in Belgium for five years, you may qualify for Permanent Residency in Belgium. Certain residents can apply for Belgian nationality if you qualify for certain requirements. Both allow you to stay in Belgium indefinitely.
The candidate will get a Single permit valid for 1 year. The employer will extend it for 1 year, afterwords under statute of nurse for 3 years. Finally, the Single Permit can be applied for indefinite duration.
In Belgium, access to education is free until the end of compulsory schooling, which lasts until the age of 18.
